What we collect and why

Aktvator collects only the data needed to operate the platform — connecting companies with Aktvators, verifying task completions, and processing payments.

• Account data

  Name, email address, phone number, and password when you register. Used to identify your account and let you log in.

• Profile data

  For Aktvators: location (state, city), tier level, date of birth, gender, and profile photo if uploaded. Used to match Aktvators to relevant gigs and to build your public portfolio.

• Identity verification data

  NIN (National Identification Number) or other government ID, collected during registration. Used to verify that you are who you say you are. This data is handled securely and not shared with third parties beyond identity verification requirements.

• Campaign and gig data

  For Sellers: organization details, campaign configurations, gig definitions, budgets, and reward rules. For Aktvators: gig applications, task attempts, and campaign participation history.

• Verification and proof data

  Photos, videos, documents, or other evidence submitted as proof of task completion. Used to verify that gig requirements were met and to resolve disputes.

• Payment and financial data

  Wallet balances, transaction history, bank account details (for withdrawals), and payout records. Used to process payments and maintain financial records.

• Usage data

  Log data including IP address, device type, and pages visited. Used to secure the platform, diagnose issues, and improve the product.

How we use your data

• To operate your account and give you access to the platform.
• To match Aktvators to gigs and process task submissions.
• To verify task completions and process payments.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• To send operational communications such as verification results, payment confirmations, and account notifications.
• To generate your public Aktvator portfolio (verified work, task stats, top categories).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

Who we share data with

• Sellers and Aktvators — Sellers can see the names, Aktvator codes, and verified work stats of Aktvators who apply to their gigs. Aktvators can see the names and campaign details of the organizations whose gigs they work on.
• Service providers — We use trusted third-party services for hosting, payment processing, identity verification, and email delivery. These providers process data on our behalf under strict data agreements.
• Legal requirements — We may share data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Aktvator, its users, or the public.

Public profiles

Aktvator profiles at aktvator.com/p/[code] are publicly accessible. They display your name, tier, location (state/country only), join date, verified task counts, and top categories. If you do not want your profile to appear publicly, contact us to deactivate it.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, financial records).

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.

Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics that track individuals across sites are used.
